Classes for younger ages, four to six, will focus on cooperative play, homestead activities and pony riding skills. Riding sessions are subject to weather and safety guidelines. We do not guarantee a specific amount of time in the saddle. However, we will ride as often as possible and for as long as possible, in teams and taking turns. Time in the saddle varies from day to day. This provides the opportunity to develop better riding, relationship, balance and leadership skills. We do not offer refunds. But we do reschedule if it seems appropriate for special circumstances. --Horse history lessons include homesteading on the Pajarito Plateau, ranch schooling, mounted patrol for the Manhatten Project, Junior Posse, rodeo and North Mesa Stables of Los Alamos. –Drop off and pick up at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge (650 North Mesa Road) with field trips to the stables for horse activities. --Breaks for lunch and afternoon snacks. Please bring lunch, snacks, water and appropriate clothing for fun in the sun (closed toe shoes, long sleeve over shirt and a hat).
